I am sub inspector in a paramilitary force, I just want to submit that at presently sub inspector’s pay scale is similar to a TGT teacher, but in sixth CPC all the sub inspectors are degraded and they are now given pay scale similar to a PRT teacher. To get job in paramilitary force is a Herculean task as one has to pass all India basis exams and also has to go through tough medical, physical examination and interview besides written exam. The nature of duty of a sub inspector is so hard in comparison to that of a teacher. They are deployed in remote areas, in counter insurgencies etc and they have to give 12 to 18 hours duty for a day.

On promotion / up gradation between 1.1.2006 and 30.6.2006 pay will be fixed allowing an increment & new Grade Pay applicable to the post. Whether increment is required to be allowed normally on 1.7.2006? The official has not drawn his regular increment since April 2005. Can any body clarify this?

Ref.: 6th Pay Commission - RBE 103/2008 dated 04.09.2008, Srl.7 A (ii) – Reg.

“Where, in the fixation of pay the pay of Railway servants drawing pay at two or more consecutive stages in an existing scale gets bunched, that is to say, gets fixed in the revised pay structure at the same stage in the pay band, then, for every two stages so bunched, benefit of one increment shall be given so as to avoid bunching of more than two stages in the revised running pay bands. For this purpose, the increment will be calculated on the pay in the pay band. Grade pay would not be taken in to account for the purpose of granting increments to alleviate bunching”

Kindly clarify the above matter and arrange to send the detailed formula / illustration for calculation of pay band including benefit of bunching as on 01.01.2006; especially clarification regarding R.P.F. personnel pay fixation in new pay structure –

Constable Existing 3050-75-3950-80-4590 - Revised 5200-20200 + GP 2000
Head Constable Existing 3200-85-4900 – Revised 5200-20200 + GP 2400
Asst. Sub Inspector Existing 4000-100-6000 – Revised 5200-20200 + GP 2800
