People Unsatified With sixth pay commission report

All news about 40% rise in salary is absolutely wrong. If you read full report here or calculate your net salary, you will find that actual rise in pay is only around 20% for most of central government employees.

Now unsatisfied with sixth pay commission report, armed forces are planning to petition the government to ensure officers and jawans get better pay packages than the ones recommended. The matter is likely to be raised when Admiral Sureesh Mehta, General Deepak Kapoor and Air Chief Marshal F H Major meet defence minister A K Antony on Thursday.

Admiral Mehta said, ‘‘There are always anomalies in the pay commissions, which need to be corrected. We will take it up directly with the pay commission.’’ General Kapoor, in turn, said, ‘‘We are studying the proposals... We will come out with cogent suggestions to the defense ministry. There is always scope for improvement in everything.’’

Remember that, they will talk for only armed forces, not for civilians employees.

The question of people who got into higher scales after 01.01.2006. How will their pay be fixed and how to calculate their emoluments as of 01 July 08 as has been done with others?

There are certain recommendation in the Sixth Pay Commission Report. Page 50, which is:

"In cases where employees have been placed in a higher pay scale between 01.01.2006 and the date of notification of the revised Pay Bands on account of promotion, upgradation of pay scale, etc. the employees shall be given the option to switch over to the revised pay band and grade pay from the date of such promotion, upgradation"

This means, is there any minimum criteria like qualification or performance for the people to jump from one pay band to another?
For example...a diploma or ITI in Payband 2 like to change to Pay band 3 when he/ she reaches the maximum grade pay in his/her present band........

6th CPC report as been completely un-satisfactory. This is because of several rasons. Introduction of pay bands reduced the difference between any two successive posts and morality of the employees. Whether you work or not you still get your increment and the difference between any two successive posts is reduced. With decrease in rupee value, difference in pay between successive posts must be increased.
For individuals in service there are HRA and TA, which go up with basic pay (and revision). Those retiring after 35 years of healthy service, they retire and do not get any such allowances. Then how do the retirees live for the rest of their lives with soring prices.

This report is like paying an interium relief of Rs 1000 to most of the employees. It is only beneficial to 5% top brass of the officers.

The propaganda that there is 40% hike in basic pay of employees is incorrect. The real increase will just be below 20% in most cases.Even the DA that the employees were enjoying on the merged DA has been withdrawn !
