Govt to discuss pay report at next Cabinet meeting

July 3: With high-powered Committee of Secretaries (CoS) headed by Cabinet Secretary K.M. Chandrasekhar handing over the Sixth Pay Commission report suggesting a few cosmetic changes, the government is now likely to consider it in the next meeting of the Union Cabinet.

Informing about this, a senior Union Cabinet minister on the condition of anonymity said, "In the next meeting of the Cabinet, the Pay Commission report would be discussed and hopefully a decision will be arrived at."

The CoS, even after reviewing the entire report and going through the grievances raised by various sections of the government employees, however failed to address all the concerns and instead it suggested hiving off the arrears by 18 months.

This means that instead of these to be computed from January 1, 2006, as suggested by the Pay Commission, the employees should get from July 1, 2007.

AS expected It seems that committee has worked as per advise of cabinet in view of election.
The scope for demand and agreement is provided for election sops in terms of arrear demand wef jan2006.
We should demand for immediate implementation with protest for arrear payment.

The CoS has suggested that new pay scales be implemented with effect from January 1, 2007, instead of January 1, 2006 but here it is mentioned that the same be effected from 1 July'2007.
Which one is correct ?

It is not mercy of Govt. It is the legitmate & genuine claim of all Govt. servants to have arrears from 01/01/2006. the Govt. have no alternatives but to pay it from 01/01/2006 as the Genl. Election is ahead.

Please implement revised pay report as early as possible.

Mr Pratap's statement is 100% correct. 'Its the legitimate claim of Central Governeemnt Employees to get the arrears from 1st Jan 2006 and not 1st Jul 2007'. Why even the Govt thinks of giving the arrear from 1st Jul 2007 it can wave it off also. If govt is so economically weak, they may think of putting some part of arrear in GPF account partially and pay the rest in cash. Its horrifying to note that instead of revising the Pay Scales to favour the employees it is going to worse by curtailing the payments of arrears from a later date .

Revised Pay as per the recommendation of REview Committee should be implemented w.e.f 01/01/2007.

It has been four months since the pay commission has submitted it report. Yet there is no light at the end of the tunnel for govt. employees. We all know that the central govt. employees are the most underpaid compared to their counterparts in PSU, Pvt. and in some State Govts. I know many low grade employees who wanted to give their children better education from the arrears of the pay that they will receive when the pay commission is implemented. Now i think that is not going to happen. If the payment of arrear date is changed then most probably most of these employees are not going to get even 20-30 thousand as arrears. The pay commission was very correct in putting the date of payment of arrear as 1st Jan. 2006. CoS should not interfere with that date. As there is not much change in the pay commission report, the date of payment of arrear should also remain same.

It is really shocking news for all the central govt.employees to learn that the commitee has suggested arrear payment from 1/07/2007. Was the commitee set up to favour the employees or to curtail their legitimate dues.

it is the right of every central government employee to get the new package from the day of due date i.e.1.1.2006. it is not an alms offered by the government. It is the financial constraints do not accept, the government should stop dirty elections benefiting schemes and programmes. every minister should leave like normal life leaving luxaries offices and other benefits that legally robbing the sweat of tax payers.

Before this when ever Pay Commission was held always employees had to face problem. Why? Employees should get arrears from 1st Jan 2006 and not 1st Jul 2007'. Inflation has risen up and we people living in India are facing problems of all types. So what i suggest that arrear should be given from 1 Jan' 2006.

CoS has suggested new pay bands. I would like to request the administrator of this blog to please give us the detailed report about the pay bands and also clarify about the date of arrears. It seems that the Govt is going to give us the arrears w.e.f. 1/7/2007 which means that a loss of 1&half years.

The pay commission was referred to the COS to redress the grievances of the central govt employees. Therefore, who has given them the right to change the date of implemention against the interests of the employees. If he had to do something, he had to improve upon the report and not to rub salt in the already wounded employees. Condemn such activities

Revision of daily allowances while on tour is the need of the day. This allowance should be made inflation proof. let not the Govt Employees be at the somebody elses mercy. Let him live a dignified life while on tour. Because they represent the Goverment.

from the news leaking out here and there it seems that the review committee has slashed the maximum of almost all the pay scales. it seems to have been particulary antagonistic towards the 5000 - 8000 scale. the pay commission had recommended merger of this scale with 5500 - 9000 but the review committee for reasons of its own has seperated this and brough t down both the maximum as well as minimum for this particular grade. the anti worker stance adoped by the review committee is a shame considering that most of the committee members are govt employees too. to add fuel to the fire arrears have been drastically cut down

let them do whatever they want to do with their govt. formation tricks. Just declare own final pay commission report. No one is interested in their problems. Just make govt. employees happy ASAP.

This govt. will not implement pay revision. This government is only and only for Industrialist/rich people and MNCs.

Cabinet Committee meeting is scheduled in evening-today(11.07.08). It is not confirmed that Pay Commission report is also on agenda. As last report it has to come that the meeting completed and decision making only for motion confidence which will be held on 22 of this month, on eve of this day CWC meeting will be held no SPC discussion till now done i think this will be discussed after 22 if UPA fails SPC also and our hope also down to the earth

Dear readers,AFTER READING ALL THE REPORTS LETS VOW TODAY THAT WE WILL TEACH A LESSON TO THIS GOVT IF THE ALREADY BIASED SPC IS CURTAILED ANY FURTHER IN THE FORM OF LESS ARREARS.THE COS WAS SET UP TO CLEAR THE ANOMALIES IN THE SPC NOT TO CURTAIL IT FURTHER.I'm SURE THIS IS BEING DONE ON THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE FM.WHATS EVEN MORE SUPRISING IS THAT NO PARTY(LEFT/BJP)IS SPEAKING ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THE SAME WILL HAVE TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN THE STATES.

Anonymous said...

not much hopes dear. the review committee has given lousy recommendations and any gain will only be immediate not long term. and with arrears drastically cut down, it looks as if we are being handed out some dole as if we are no better than beggars on the the street.

This is a very disgraceful sight to think that people defending our country struggling 24*7 have to fight so much for their right. The govt is not giving charity here come on its their right. They deserve all the dues as it it they are under paid. All were depending on the arrears which is yet another blow for them

as this pay commission could not solve the financial problems of govt. employees so this should not be given in same position.

Gopal C. Dhar said...

Why the govt. employee demanded for release of higher pay package:-
1)inflation figures runs in single speed, but spot market runs double speed.
2)higher educational fee hiked 40% every year and bound to pay.

so we expected from the committee to implement higher pay package with arrear from 1.1.2006 to mitigate burden.

as the committee of secretaries have already done its work. the government has also won the vote of confidence in the parliament now it is the right time for the government to implement the sixth cpc at the earliest keeping in view the left out term of this government. in view of the need of the hour the government should implement the report w.e.f. 1.1.2006 along with the arrears as recommended originally by the pay commission.

its a good news for the central government employees that they are going to get the revised pay structure at the earliest.

The Govt should announce the CPC ASAP. The employees are tired of already delayed report which is still hanging in Govt court. Why delay now.

Anonymous said...

As per SPC how much MSP has been recommended?

Anonymous said...

The sixth CPC report should be implemented at the earliest so that the highly burdened employees should get some relief. It is also suggested that the same should be implemented w.e.f. 01.01.2006 with the payment of arrear erly.

The Pay Commission is due from 01-01-2006 and hte SPC has also recommended these date for implementation. This is as per market price/ inflation. CoS has been constituted to make hte SPC better and not to worsen/ detoriate the same. Hence it is not understood as to why the CoS is eager to harm the C Govt. Employees without any lawful logic. Hence the SPC must be implemented w.e.f. 01-01-2006 with arreers. It will not be out of place to mention here that Lok Sabha Election are at the door step, if any severe injustice is made with Central Govt. Employees, it is challenged that not a single employee will cast their votes in favour of the present Govt. Don't forget it at all.

Unknown said...

The Authorities of Central Govt may not that all central Govt.Employees have secretly planned a nation-wide strike and will not budge if suggested recommendations are implemented w.e.f 1.1.2006. Also, the Govt may note as to how poorly election reluts will be, if interest of its employees is not lookedafter and recommendations are not implemented from 1.1.2008.

If the Govt. wants to reduce the financial burden and to make the fiscal position sound, specially Class "A" grade officers should be honest positively and don't make any private tour in the name of official tour and also cut frequent tour programme. In nut shell, it is meant that the govt. machinery should not be misused by anybody, whosoever may be. It is not at all the solution to betray with the central govt. employees by unlogical reduce of any legal benefit of the employee so that nobody will try to make himself corrupt in any way. Hence, SPC should be implemented without any further delay with arrears w.ef. 1.1.2006.
